Finally, DSTV/GoTV Is Shutting Down From Nigeria Digital Pay TV Space

The legal body in charge of anything broadcasting in Nigeria, the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has on Tuesday issued a letter to Multichoice the operators of the two popular Pay TV services in the country DSTV and GoTV that at the end of their current operation license, which is to expire by June 2019, NBC will cease to renew the license because it was not in accordance to Digital Switch Over (DSO) white paper.

And that for Multichoice to continue to operate in Nigeria after the expiration of their current license they will have only one option left and that is going to Licensed Signal Distribution Company.

Multichoice acquired their current operation license from NBC in 2014 and since then series of accusations have been labelled against them ranging from using GoTV to illegally acquire foreign exchange from Nigeria and some other unwholesome conducts.

For those who are not happy with the kind and manner of services that Multichoice provide, who sees them as being monopolistic and overly exploitive and who are ready to see Multichoice kicked out of the country, maybe your expectations are now going according to plans, but at this moment, only time will tell.
