You Can Now Lock Whatsapp App With Biometric Security – Touch ID Or Face ID

In the iOS Whatsapp update with version 2.19.20 it has been observed that one can now lock their Whatsapp app using any of the touch ID or face ID biometric security feature of your device.

Depending on the model of your iPhone, and if your Whatsapp is up to date and you have the feature turned on from the account settings of app, you will get the option to either use the touch ID or face ID to unlock the app.

Although your messages cannot be directly secured on personal chat to chat base, but with the biometric mode of accessing the app, you should be rest assured that you will get additional security even after unlocking the app.

Now talking about notification, if you choose to turn on message previews through the notification settings, you might still be able to see, reply to message notification even without unlocking the device with any of the biometric means. Also you will still be able to take incoming calls with the app in lock mode.

This feature is currently and only available to iOS devices, but there is strong indication that those on android platforms will also get the updates in due time.
