Exclusive: Hands On and All You Need to Know About the Infinix Hot Note Pro

I have been following closely the obscure reviews by many about the features of the Infinix Hot Note Pro, but I noticed that it is either that those that have been carrying out these reviews have not laid their hands on the device or did not understand some of the features of the phone even if they are truly in possession of it, and therefore could not unravel the key questions posed by intending buyers.

Even as the Infinix Hot Note Pro is now almost a week old in the market, many of its features still becloud the minds of many.

In that vein and with the Infinx Hot Note pro clearly on hand, we have decided to give an exclusive and unbiased review on every key thing you need to know about this Infinix new baby.

We will be kicking off immediately by first clarifying all those key features of the phone that have been confusing many and have been generating lots of controversies and heated arguments about the Infinix Hot Note Pro.

Now let’s start with the camera; I know lots of mistakes both from Jumia and Infinix the OEM on their platforms concerning the camera pixel of this phone.

Jumia advert video that says the back camera is 13MP was made in error, because the true camera pixel of the Infinx Hot Note Pro is 8MP back and 2MP front shutter.

Coming down to whether the device has external expandable memory, I want to state clearly here that Infinix Hot Note Pro has external expandable MicroSD slot to the tune of another 32GB together with its internal memory of 32GB, you can now easily say that it adds up to 64GB for the device, and yes the RAM is 2GB.

Again, I don’t know whether many people still don’t know the difference between Mini SIM, Micro SIM and Nano SIM, and please if you are still confused about these 3 set of SIM, then carefully read Mini, Micro and Nano SIM in order to save yourself from further confusion.

After all said, the Infinix Hot Note Pro just like its younger brother the Hot Note came with 1 Micro SIM slot and the 2nd SIM slot can use either 1 Nano SIM or another Micro SIM, and both SIM slots can make use of 3G networks which you can easily interchange from the mobile network sub-menu without needing to manually remove back cover to interchange the SIMs.

I have heard lots of people talking about the Inifinix Hot Note Pro on whether it has any form of tampered screen guard, and I kept wondering in the imagination of those saying that the main screen is bared.

I don’t think Infinxi will be that dumb to leave the main screen of the Infinix Hot Note Pro unprotected at all, because almost all modern android phones came with some sort of main screen protection.

Even it might not necessarily be Corning Gorilla Glass, the Infinix Hot Note Pro has a thin film like glass protection that cannot easily be peeled off unlike that of many other phones, but the screen shield is there, unless you are looking forward to adding another making it dual screen protection.

If you cannot see the light skin glass protection of the Infinix Hot Note Pro, then use a microscope or binoculars and you will see it since maybe you are still finding it difficult to notice it.

Then coming down to the 3 soft keys below the screen, just like the way the phone in question has no notification lights, those 3 keys too are not lighted on tapping.

Does the phone support OTA updates and OTG?

Yes it has OTA update and also supports USB OTG

Does the non-removable 4000mAh battery truly charge fast with the phone in-built quick charge technology?

Yes the quick charge technology is highly functional and it takes about two to two and half hours to charge the phone from flat to full i.e. from 0% to 100%.

Before I forget, some are claiming that while making call with the Infinix Hot Note Pro, that the speaker is not loud enough, but I want to chip in here that unless those people that are complaining about that have little ear defect or their particular devices are faulty, the call/receive volume/sound of the Infinix Hot Note Pro is loud and clear.

Then talking about music play on the Infinix Hot Note Pro, both when the device is on loudspeaker and earpiece speaker, I can assure you that the device is not the best in sound quality and lack some organized Digital Dolby Surround sounds.

What again do you want to know about the Infinix Hot Note Pro?

Ok, about the 8MP camera image quality?

Yes it is clear and even at night it still tries to capture some good quality images.

And the phone doesn't get hot like Infinix Hot when you play games for long and use 3G network, it only gets warm as any other normal phone does.

Can the phone be rooted and can its IMEI be tweaked?

Yes it is 100% and easily rootable and you can also easily tweak the IMEI; to root, use King Root, and to tweak the IMEI, use Mobile Uncle.

Don’t expect to see Infinix Hot Note Pro written on the pack when you order for this device, as what you will see is only Infinix Hot Note, the same with its immediate younger brother and even their model number is the same, which is X551.

Finally, the Infinix Hot Note Pro is currently selling at Jumia for N27,000 after selling for N26,000 throughout last week that it was launched and we still expect further and slight increase in price in the coming weeks.
