High Class Xiaomi Redmi 2 Unveiled just ahead of CES

One would have thought that the Chinese smartphone giant that has recently risen from grass to grace will launch their latest flagship Xiaomi Redmi 2 device in the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) that is just about few hours from now to commence.

But rather the the Beijing based company decided to unveil the new and second version of the Redmi device just barely 48 hours ahead of the big show event.

The Xiaomi Redmi was one of their prominent devices that assisted to skyrocket the company to their current positions as 5 world's top smartphone makers.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 also known as Hongmi 2 has just being launched and is similar to the previous Redmi in many ways, but there are no doubts that this is a much upgraded version.

The new Redmi 2 comes with a dual SIM, dual 4G connectivity which was obviously not present in the 1^st Redmi.

Maintaining same screen size of 4.7” and 720 X 1280 display resolution, the Redmi 2 this time around spots a Dragon Tail Glass protection unlike the previous version that comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen protection.

Remember the former Redmi is an MTK device, but the internal of the Redmi 2 features a full 64 bit chipset of Snapdragon 410, Quad Cortex-A53 at 1.2GHz.

The internal memory sees the Redmi 2 being upgraded from 4GB to 8GB but still with 1GB RAM and with an expandable storage of 32GB via microSD.

The major camera of this device remains 8MP shooter from OminiVision, while the secondary camera is a 2MP/720p for selfies.

The MicroUSB port of the Redmi 2 supports quick charge that is capable of filling its 2200mAh Li-Po battery at minimal time.

China is already the first port of call for the latest Redmi 2 before any other international distribution which the time for that is yet unmentioned.

The price of the Redmi 2 is said to be about $110, making it highly affordable.
