How to manage blogging with schooling together

How to manage blogging and schooling together is one of the numerous questions about blogging mostly asked by student bloggers or students who while schooling have the intention of picking up blogging either as recreational activities or to supplement for their up keep in school.

It is with respect to such question that I will be laying down in the following paragraphs what such categories of bloggers ought to know in order to be able to carry out their schooling with blogging pari passu.
How to manage blogging with schooling together

Now the very first thing that every student bloggers should have at the back of their mind is that blogging should be seen as part time activities order than a full time job, and more of recreational (passion) other than business.

There should be no time they should designate more time to blogging than their academic activities, because if done the other way round, it will definitely end up having greater negative consequences on the student which will in turn result to poor academic performances.

As a student in the tertiary institution that is passionate about blogging, having it at the back of the mind already that blogging is a part time activity, therefore special time and days should be designated for blogging that does not interfere with your academic activities.

Days like weekends should be adequately utilized for blogging. 3 to 4 hours of blogging each of Saturdays and Sundays is never a bad idea in this sense.

Niche blogging here should be strictly adopted and the students involved should craftily and carefully select a niche that is not as demanding as a full time blogger.

Niche like entertainment for example should be a no go area as in most cases with this niche, for one to really make something tangible out of it, he/she needs to spend more time with the computer on daily bases in order to  keep up with latest event and ever trending entertainment gist. But for a student, such amount of time might not be readily available daily for him/her.

They should consider niche that with 2 or 3 articles per week will almost suffice. Even better as students which they are and talking here of values which they can bring to their contents and to their blog visitors, they should consider the tutorial niche where they can even teach others whatever they learnt during weekdays or other educative areas that they are more passionate about.

As student bloggers, your major sources of blog traffic should be targeted more on search engines which are one of the two best and largest sources of blog traffic

As with search engine traffic, those many days and periods during weekdays that you are busy learning in the classroom and are not opportune to be promoting your blog for direct traffic, search engine will help you in keeping your blog busy by sending valuable organic traffic to your blog while you go on with your academic works without much worries on whether your blog is flourishing with visitors or not.

Therefore student bloggers are encouraged to endeavor to find out time to learn more of SEO maybe during holidays, as search engine might just end up being that indispensable tool for them.

A student blogger should also bear in mind that vacations and public holidays are the biggest moments, time and opportunities for them to use in firing up their blogging in all ramifications; whether it is tweaking your blog designs, increasing your article post rate, exploring more forms of traffic generation, increasing monetization methods etc.

Now instead of using those vacation periods solely or mainly for fun seeking you can share your vacation period with your blogging activities as listed above and still enjoy your vacation perfectly since you are even now passionate about your blog. You can see that blogging can augur well with your schooling, vacation and your recreational moments.

Finally, since blogging as a student has now been establish as a part time and secondary activities with regards to academic activities, the students should not in any way be expecting much returns from their blogging at this level if truly the saying ‘when much is given, much is often expected’ stands.

Maybe something to be going home with at this level like say some cash to buy books and handouts with, have coffee at the school coffee shop, pay some of your transportation bills i.e. if you stay off campus or even contribute for excursion trips as well. So those are some of the paths to follow and the things you should be hoping to achieve with your blogs for now as students.

  2. Hi Edwin,

You have said it all in this article post that students should see blogging as a part time activities order than a full time job and more of recreational (passion) other than business.

The act of making quick money should not be major reason a student should should blog. Blogging is not a "GET RICH QUICK" venture, all probloggers who are making 4-figures-income already lay down sacrifice of years before getting to the land of successs.

Student can start blogging for the hope of making it a brand in the nearby future and also make huge income. Perfect timing and priorities is also needed and of utmost important

  3. I am teaching to my sister son as he his only 6 years old studying in 2nd class. He can't speak English at all, but still loves to upload images and clicks twitter followers, etc. Another person of my family was around 11 years old and training on blogging.

I am looking to leave this online blogging and concentrate on my other business. Schooling children can get enough English when they write articles because most online tools shows grammar correction.

Once the schooling children learns, they will be excellent when goes to college.

  4. Sure and it is possible to manage both your career at school and on blogging.

Actually, it is a great combination, as for my opinion. As you attend to your class, you can apply the lessons that you’ve learned and turn it into a great idea to write in your blog. Aside from this, you can also earn your allowance, which is pretty awesome.

I’ve been already through this and I can say that it’s fun, even though you sometimes might face both blogger and student’s problem.

Only be wise in managing your time and you’ll surely rock! :)

    Best,

  5. Well, I too agree with you.

Schooling is a good time to start a blogging career. After deciding the niche, although passion decides the niche itself, one can easily manage to find some time for blogging.

And, to make it more productive and effective, I recommend scholars to keep a pocket diary with them just to note down the ideas whenever they strike their mind. This way, one can easily and quickly draft a post.

Once you manage to have some spare time, the topic from draft can be transformed to live post with effect.

As OlaMosh mentioned about making it a brand, I must say that during school days, we have a large group of friends interconnected. This way, it becomes easy to spread the word about your blogging to a larger audience.
