Airtel Blackberry Internet Subscription (BIS) unlimited 2+1 plans are all promos and have ended

I noticed that a lot of people don’t know that all the airtel BIS unlimited 2+1 plans are promos and so they think that they can enjoy it for eternity. 

So I am here to notify you that the Airtel BIS unlimited 2+1 offers that you have been enjoying since are all promo offers and the offers has officially ended on the eve of new year, but for those that succeeded in subscribing for any of the offer that new year eve have from then till March to still enjoy it, but subsequent subscription after that new year eve has been disabled.

It was also a shocker that those with eligible SIM that were given 4GB of data for period of 2 months for N1,500 were also affected, so that offer was also a promo.

If you are an airtel subscriber you would have noticed that at the eve of the New Year, airtel sent out notification texts messages to most of their subscribers, letting them know that the BIS unlimited 2+1 offer ends that night being 31st December 2013. 


If you go on presently to subscribe to  any of the BIS unlimited 2+1 plans that you usually subscribe for before using any of the activation codes, you most likely will get this reply ‘Error occurred (538), please try again sometimes’, this is simply an indication that the offer is no longer available. 

On the other way round if go ahead to use the SMS code method to try to subscribe to any of those plans, you will get this reply ‘Dear subscriber, you have sent in incorrect keyword’ or no reply at all, which is also an indication that the promo has ended.


The most common BIS 2+1 offers that you mostly use that have been suspended include but not only;

= => the 3 month plans that offer 6GB of data for N6,000

= =>the 3 week plan that offer 1.2GB of data for N1,050

= =>the 3 day plan that offer 240MB of data for N200

= =>and also the eligible SIMs that were given 4GB of data for N1,500 for a period of 2 months.


But the good news here is that it is only the 2+1 promos that were suspended and you can still do the single month subscription and use it to browse on your PC and other non-blackberry devices. 

Below are some of the single month plans that you can still subscribe to and use to browse on any device presently that is still affordable and cheap as compared to other networks.

= =>Monthly plan that gives you 2GB of data for N1,500 (activation code: *440*16#)

= =>weekly plan that offer 400MB of data for N400 (activation code:*440*17#)

= =>daily plan that gives 80MB and that goes for N100 (activation code: *440*18#)

So you can currently choose from any of the above plans for your browsing pleasure. 

They are still working fine on PC and other devices that you can think of. So don’t be scare to subscribe to any of them for now, and if by any way after subscription, you still can’t connect and browse, always feel free to implement what you see here and you should be up and running.

  2. Hi, it's true that the airtel 2+1 offer has officially ended as at 31st Dec 2013. The question now remains, what's the way forward? Though I subscribed to the normal bb daily and it worked but I didn't even usurp the data before I was deactivated the very next day. This is sad. Please come up with something, thanks.

    1. Yes it is true that the daily bb plan expires same day by midnight and thats quite sad, so I sugest the weekly plan or better still the monthly plans that will last for you

  6. Bro,please help. I subscribed to the airtel monthly bis around ending of last December,I got 2gb. It was working fine till the 2nd,then it stopped. I can't do anything with it since then,I've subscribed to daily and weekly about twice but it still ain't working. But the funny thing is once I leave my area,it starts browsing but once I get home,it stops. I still have about 2gb just wasting. Pls advise.

  7. After topping it with 10mb, it will connect and disconnect immediately. It will not connect again until when i remove the modem and it will disconnect again before 5 seconds.What should i do. I want to make sure it will connect permanently b/4 subscribing for the monthly plan.

Those that subscribed for the three months plan of N3,000 from December last year have the chance of renewing and using it till March ie if you subscribe again before the expiration date, otherwise you won't be able to do that N3,000 again, but the normal monthly plan still works perfectly even if it expires. Hope you understand

  28. It should be temporal network problem, since you have already used ip for some days and it worked. You don't need to change the APN, any of those APN that you used is just fine and should work

  32. Hi, mr. Edwin, I subscribe for the airtel unlimited for my blackberry, they when browsing they deduct from my main balance, and I call airtel customer service. They said the problem will be verified within 24hrs so I waited. And I started browsing, I watch a youtube video of about 1hr 30min and I couldn't brows with the sim again I subscribe on second of april and it stops on 3rd april. Any help?

  33. Check your remaining bundle balance first by using either *141*11*0# or *123*10# to know wether you exhausted you total mb while streaming youtube vedio for an hour and the half, because online streaming consumes a lot of data

    1. for you to now check for your remaining data bundle balance, there is a new code for that which is *123*9#. Then for the slowness, actually these few days the network has been quite slow, but make sure that you are using 3G network to connect so as to improve speed.     I also subscribe for the 1500 plan on my bb but only 1.5 gig was given to be and its finished within a week. I did not stream videos with it, only twitter, bbm and whtzapp but the 1.5gig expires.

Yes that is the latest development for Airtel subscribers and it is even surprising that even blackberry users are even affected in this whole trend of zapping BIS data bundle, and many people are not happy with this development from Airtel. It seems Airtel are oblivious of negative impact that this new trend could do their business down here. For browsing now, I think MTN night plan is making more sense now as it can now be configured to even work all day on both PC and Android devices.

    1. You really need to check your available MB first whether you still have MB. And I dint really get you very well. Does it mean You subscribed for the Airtel BIS and later subscribed for the normal mb. And again of recent airtel are acting very funny. I even suggest you go with Glo and or other network for now so your data can last for you. Glo has nice packages

    1. So sad that they deducted your money without giving you data. Ever since the month of April this year, Airtel began acting funny with their blackberry subscription and their data now finishes on time. I suggest you give airtel some break for now till they realize themselves, and maybe port to MTN. I will provide you with all the necessary details you will use for your MTN night plan and browse all day with it both on your Android and PC. Once again I am sorry with what happened to you and I just hope they refund or credit you with your data.

    1. Yes o, you are absolutely right. It is the same way with non blackberry device that the data is draining fast. I suggest you switch to MTN night plan if you have an android device or want to make use of it on PC.

      I will provide a way for you to be making use of it all day and not only at night

    1. What happened is that they gave you MB but you where unable to see the MB because you kept using the old code for checking of MB which they have changed. The new code is now *123*9#.

      Though airtel will still give the 80MB, but be rest assured that they now deduct your MB 2.2 times faster. ie. if you use say 10MB, they will duct 10MB X 2.1 which is 22MB. So they deduct twice as normal now. In other words, your 80MB invariably is 36MB value
